Going Out
London, 2002, Fourth Estate.
Fascinating. One of the two main characters is a young man of 25 who, because he is fatally allergic to sunlight, has never been out of the house in which he was born. He knows the world only through TV, telephone and internet; and through the eyes of his friend, the other main character, the young woman who lives next door, who is an obsessive/compulsive. Then something happens.
A metaphor for how all of us are, in a way; knowing the news only through the eye of a TV camera, for instance.
