Working with a group of art students today, I took in with me a set of photographic prints – either to illustrate points or to start discussions.
A photography lecturer, with his own group of students, came by. Picking up one of my prints he showed it to them, saying: "Here you are; this illustrates what I mean. That sky tone could never have been achieved by digital means or even by 35mm film. This has to have been done on roll film at least, and probably five by four sheet."
They moved on.
The print in question was from a shot taken a few days ago, admittedly with considerable care, on a digital SLR.
