To the Universal Soldier

From Dr C:

"You, I, George Bush, and 300 million Americans all share the guilt. It will never be washed clean."

Read the full article here. Please.

I'll add "Me, Tony Blair, and 60 million Britons: ditto".

My post title refers not to the 1990's Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicles about cyborgs, nor to the 1971 George Lazenby glorification of mercenaries, but to Buffy St Marie's 1964 song of that title and specifically to the final stanza of the version covered by Donovan Leitch in 1965:

...
His orders come from far away no more,
They come from here and there and you and me,
And brothers can't you see,
This is not the way we put the end to war.

(My emphasis - on a message for all of us who live in the 'liberal democracies'.)
