I lay in the grass, in the fields of the past...*

Under several of my hats (photographer, scientist, fan of and former subscriber to the magazine Ten8, to mention but three or four...) I thoroughly recommend Ray Girvan's post Rural photography - the shaping of aesthetics, posted a couple of hours ago.

It's a long time since I read such a thoughtful discussion of the relation between photographer and social meme.
