I love Wales. All of it, but especially outside the main cities.
I love its steep towns. I love its wilderness. I love the way both can often butt up to each other, no blur of indecision, so that you can step from terraced street to pagan hillside in a moment. I love the blasted tops of the Elanidd, the chaotic coastlines of the west, even the brittle artificiality of Taf Fechan.
I love the necessity, from where I am, to pass underground, or over a water, or through forest, to get to it.
Sorry about that ... had to get it out of my system!
