I've written a couple of times about LightZone, the wonderful photographer-oriented digital darkroom imaging program which died when its publisher went the way of all flesh and was rescued by a group of enthusiasts calling themselves “LightZombie”. I've just been alerted (months after the event; sorry about that!) to a new stage: one of the original LightZone programmers, Anton Kast, has secured permission to develop it as an open source project. Details at www.lightzoneproject.org.
